Fiery Melisandre, or “Fia” as we call her, is a black torbie with characteristic colors in her face.

Fia is named after the red priestess Melisandre of Asshai, in A Song of Ice and Fire. The name is probably a variant of Mélisande, a French Medieaval form of Millicent, from Germanic Amalasuintha, which means work, labour and strong.
