Grand International Premier (N) Zifina Hieronymus Hurlumhei is the king among our cats.
Hieronymus is very self-confident and knows how pretty he is. He is quite a personality, and knows exactly what he wants – and tells us! A very talkative cat, with many different sounds to express his “commands” to us. He is easy to travel with and take to shows. His coat is long and needs quite a bit of grooming during shedding, but that is not a problem; normally he will purr through combing. Hieronymus also has the most relaxed sleeping style in the house, typically sprawling with legs in all directions, tummy up. He is the alpha male in the house and usually is the one keeping control of things.
Hurlumhei is his name from the breeder; the others in the Zifina H-litter are called Hoppsideisi, Hattifnatt, Humpybumpy and Huldretufsa. Video of the Zifina H-litter about 9 weeks old, Hurlumhei to the left:
Hurlumhei means ruckus, hubbub, fuss, carouse, or whoppie and is very suitable for the super active, playful kitten we got to be Tequila’s playmate. The word Hurlumhei is also used in Finnish.
Hieronymus (also spelled Jeronimus) means “sacred name” and was the name of my dear creme with white housecat I grew up with, so our Hieronymus is also named after him.
