G-litter – G-kullet!

The third generation of WesterosCats The four kittens in our G-litter are 11 weeks old already, and all are spoken for. The two girls will stay in the cattery, one probably in a foster home. One of the boys will travel to a breeder friend abroad, the other will be a companion for one of the F-cats from last summer. Vårt G-kull er tredjegenerasjons Westeros-katter. De fire kattungene er blitt 11 uker gamle, og det fins planer for alle sammen. De to jentene blir i oppdrettet, Gersimi her hos oss, og Gilly antagelig hos fôrfamilie. En av guttene reiser til en oppdrettervenn utenlands, den andre blir kompis til en katt fra F-kullet i fjor sommer. Mother Daenerys is classic tabby, and we wonder if daddy William could be homozygous mackerel, and not carry classic (blotched) tabby. His next litters will show. The G-litter could not have happened without the good help and mentoring from my breeder friend Sibylle at Greygables Maine Coon. Our wonderful primadonna Greygables Olenna Oldgrey is the great grandmother of these four G-youngsters. Kattungesommer

Kitten Summer – kattungesommer! NO*WesterosCat E-kull kom 1. juli; hele 8 kattunger, og selv om to var faretruende små er mor Betzy fantastisk dyktig førstegangsfødende, og ungene vokser. E-kullets side med mer informasjon her. NO*WesterosCat D-kull er blitt 10 uker gamle og er reiseklare midt i august. Det er fire vakre katter altså, og Daenerys blir her i oppdrettet, mens Dorea skal til en annen oppdretter. Skjønne Dyanna Dayne er nå reservert: Drogon vurderes fremdeles til avl utenfor Norge-Sverige, men det er godt mulig han blir ledig til selskap. Han har tøff look og er vakker, rett og slett! Drogon might be available for breeding outside Norway-Sweden, for a breeder following the PawPeds health programmes with public results in the database. Vi ser forøvrig ikke bort i fra at det kan komme flere kattungeoverraskelser utover året … Another Cream Dream! Welcome to Norway, dear William! We have a new boy in the house, Greygables William Wordsworth. He is sweet and talkative, and we find him very pretty. He is a very light cream, mackerel tabby pattern, and white bicolour with high stockings on all four legs. William’s page can be found here Siden vår aller første Jeronimus huskatt på 70-tallet, har vi hatt en enorm svakhet for kremgutter med hvitt. Vår aller nyeste unghanne i hus er enda en kremgutt med hvitt. Vi har en travel sommer foran oss  –  We have a busy summer indeed!

B-girls 8 weeks!

Brie og Betzy begynner bli store og selvstendige, og klare for å finne sine fremtidige hjem hos dyreglade familier. 5. juni har de blitt 8 uker gamle. Søte Brie selges til selskap, og hun er reiseklar fra 8. juli. Hun selges ferdig kastrert, ID-merket, vaksinert og forsikret. Bries egen side her med flere bilder.   Betzy vurderes brukes i videre avl, og vi lurer på fôrvertavtale for henne, med mulighet for at hun får et kull om et års tid. Et fôrhjem må ligge på strekningen Oslo – Follo – Østfold, eventuelt i Molde-området. Betzys egen side her med flere bilder.   Jentene har fått sin første vaksine og ID-chip, og når de reiser til nye hjem har de fått en vaksinedose til, stamtavle og EU-pass er klare, og de får med seg kattungepakke med litt fôr og leker. Kattungene er allerede fullforsikret i Agria, polisen overtas av ny eier som da slipper ny karenstid. Mer om kullet, foreldre og helsetester

We Dream of Spring!

First let us introduce our new young boy Made in Maine: Flying Colors van de Kerselaar – Fleming! Both his parents are Thunderpaws cats, he was made in Maine and born in Flandern, and has now moved to Norway to live with us.  A Yankee – Fleming – Viking! Fleming has a very nice pedigree consisting of a lot of Maine cats: Complete inbreeding: 2,64 % Clones: 12,4 % Top 5: 26,4 %   Other news: Suki is expecting, and we are crossing fingers for a lovely litter in April. A-litter 10 weeks old

A-kullet her er fylt 10 uker nå, og planene for dem er stort sett klare  –  plans for the A-litter are ready. Alaric, Asha og Arianne er alle reserverte og flytter om to-tre uker til sine respektive familier. Arya og Aegon blir i oppdrettet for evaluering til videre avl. Arya skal bo her hos oss, mens Aegon etter hvert får flytte til enten et fôrhjem eller bo hos andre i familien. Når han blir fertil er det en fordel å bo unna mor og søster. Summer is over

Summer is over Now the autumn winds and rains have arrived on the northwest coast, and it is time to return home. We have been in the countryside since late June, and have had a warm and relaxing summer. The three young cats have had two houses to roam, and we have seen many visitors during summer. The small ones have grown a lot, but are still kittens at heart, chasing each other and finding every opportunity to do mischief. The three neuter cats have been allowed to run free outside, and for the first time we have been presented with hunt trophies! There are apparently small mice in the woods here after all. Summer started and ended with shows, and we are happy with the results: Ski in June, Smaalenene: Suki got an excellent judgment and was Ex 1 out of 2 cats in group 4. Olenna had her debut in the show ring and got an excellent judgement with Ex1. Not bad for a low-clone cat with complete inbreeding 6,54 %! Ålesund in September, Sunnmørskatten: Suki was just over 7 months and in class 11 Junior. She again had excellent judgements both days, and was up for nominations which she lost to typed India’s niece on Saturday and a beautiful Norwegian Forest boy on Sunday. India got CACIB both days and cannot be shown again in Norway until she has a CACIB from a different country.
